Cars Land opened at Disney California Adventure in 2012.
The themed land officially opened on June 15, 2012, as part of a major expansion of the Anaheim park. It recreates Radiator Springs, the fictional desert town from Pixar's Cars, with large-scale rockwork, neon signs, roadside businesses, and attractions inspired by the film.
Its principal attractions include Radiator Springs Racers, Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters, and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Radiator Springs Racers uses a scenic course and a competitive ride system modeled around the characters and landscape of the movie.
Cars Land is sometimes confused with the film's fictional setting. Radiator Springs is an imaginary town within the story, while Cars Land is a real theme-park area created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney-Pixar. Its opening came six years after the first Cars film and one year after Cars 2.
