What was Westlife’s first studio album, released in 1999?
Answer
Westlife
Answer
Westlife
Westlife’s first studio album, released in 1999, was Westlife.
The self-titled album was released by RCA Records in November 1999. It introduced the Irish group’s original five-member lineup: Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, and Brian McFadden. The record established their polished pop and ballad style, which became central to their later success.
The album included “Swear It Again,” “If I Let You Go,” and “Flying Without Wings.” Those singles helped make Westlife one of the most successful UK and Irish pop acts of the period. The record itself reached number two on the UK Albums Chart.
Westlife is sometimes confused with Coast to Coast, their second studio album from 2000. Coast to Coast continued the group’s commercial momentum and included later hits, but it was not the debut. McFadden remained in the original lineup until his departure in 2004, after which Westlife continued as a quartet.
