The Jackson 5’s 1970 studio album following Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5 was titled ABC.
Released by Motown in May 1970, ABC became one of the group’s most successful early albums. Its title track, “ABC,” reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, as did “The Love You Save,” another single from the record.
The album followed the group’s 1969 debut, Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5. Despite the title’s association with Diana Ross, she did not produce the album; the name reflected Motown’s promotional introduction of the young group.
ABC is sometimes confused with Third Album, which was also released in 1970. Third Album came later in the group’s early Motown sequence, while ABC was the immediate follow-up to their debut.
