The Backstreet Boys’ debut studio album, released internationally in 1996, was titled “Backstreet Boys.”
The album was first issued in Germany on 6 May 1996 and later appeared in other European markets. It introduced the group through songs such as “We’ve Got It Goin’ On,” “Quit Playing Games (with My Heart),” and “Anywhere for You.”
Although the album was not initially released in the United States, it became a major international success. Its strong European performance helped establish the group before the American release of their later self-titled album in 1997.
The title can cause confusion because “Backstreet Boys” was also used for the group’s 1997 US debut album. “Backstreet’s Back,” released in 1997, was their second international studio album, not their first.
