Seventeen’s debut extended play, released in 2015, was titled 17 Carat.
The South Korean boy band released 17 Carat on 29 May 2015 through Pledis Entertainment. The EP contains five tracks, including the title song “Adore U,” which introduced the group’s early bright and performance-focused style.
17 Carat became notable internationally because it spent a long time on the Billboard World Albums chart for a debut K-pop release. The album’s title combines the group’s name with the imagery of a diamond, a theme that continued through its branding.
The title is sometimes confused with Boys Be, which is Seventeen’s second EP, or Love & Letter, which is their first studio album. Going Seventeen is a later EP from 2016, so it is not the group’s debut release.
