What was the title of Georgia O'Keeffe's record-breaking 2014 auction painting?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe's record-breaking 2014 auction painting was Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1.

The 1932 painting shows a large white jimson weed flower against a pale background. O'Keeffe often enlarged flowers so that viewers would have to look closely at forms they might otherwise overlook.

Sotheby's sold the work in New York in November 2014 for $44.405 million. That price made it the most expensive painting by a female artist sold at auction at the time, surpassing the previous record for an O'Keeffe work.

The title is sometimes shortened to Jimson Weed, but the complete title includes White Flower No. 1. It should not be confused with Black Iris III or Red Canna, two other well-known flower paintings by O'Keeffe.
