Bill Hicks’s 1993 stand-up special and final concert film was titled Revelations.
The performance was recorded at the Dominion Theatre in London on October 25, 1992. Hicks was an American comedian known for politically charged observations, philosophical material, and criticism of advertising, religion, media, and government.
Revelations was released in 1993, shortly before Hicks died of pancreatic cancer on February 26, 1994, aged 32. The film became one of the most important records of his mature stand-up work and helped preserve his final major performance for later audiences.
It is sometimes confused with Sane Man, Hicks’s earlier concert film, which was recorded in 1989 and released in 1989. Arizona Bay and Rant in E-Minor are associated with Hicks’s albums and posthumous releases, but neither is the title of this final concert film.
