Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula 7–5, 6–2 in their 2026 US Open women’s singles semifinal.
The straight-set victory sent Sabalenka into her fourth consecutive US Open final. She had already won the tournament in 2024 and 2025, so the semifinal win kept her bid for a third straight New York title alive.
Pegula was the No. 3 seed and had been a consistent deep-run player at the US Open. Sabalenka’s victory continued their notable New York rivalry, after Sabalenka had also beaten Pegula at the tournament in earlier years.
Sabalenka ultimately lost the final to Elena Rybakina. Therefore, the semifinal score should not be mistaken for the championship match score, which lasted three sets.
