Hull City versus Manchester United was scheduled to kick off at 12:30 BST in 2026–27 Premier League Match Round 1.
The match was the first Saturday lunchtime fixture of the opening round, taking place on 22 August 2026. Hull City hosted Manchester United at the MKM Stadium as the Tigers returned to the Premier League after a nine-year absence.
Saturday lunchtime kickoffs are a familiar feature of the Premier League broadcast schedule. They give one match an earlier start than the traditional 15:00 Saturday group and are often selected for live television coverage. In the United Kingdom, the listed time was British Summer Time because the match was played in August.
The time is easy to confuse with the 15:00 kickoffs later that day. Nottingham Forest versus Leeds United, Everton versus Crystal Palace, and Ipswich Town versus Sunderland were scheduled for 15:00, while Brentford versus Tottenham Hotspur followed at 17:30.
