What was the original height in meters of the Great Pyramid of Giza?

The story behind the answer

The original height of the Great Pyramid of Giza was 146.6 meters. Built for Pharaoh Khufu during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty, the pyramid originally ended in a smooth, gleaming outer casing of white Tura limestone. That casing and its summit stone, or pyramidion, have disappeared, leaving the structure visibly shorter today at roughly 138.5 meters.

The height was about 280 ancient Egyptian royal cubits, while each side of the square base measured approximately 230.3 meters. These proportions produced an exceptionally steep but stable form, with a slope of about 51 degrees and 50 minutes.

The Great Pyramid was the tallest human-made structure in the world for more than 3,700 years. A common mix-up is to quote its present height rather than its original height; the missing casing stones account for most of the difference. It remains the only largely intact wonder of the ancient world.
