What was the name of Thomas Edison’s West Orange home?

The story behind the answer

Thomas Edison’s West Orange home was called Glenmont.

Glenmont is a large Queen Anne-style house in Llewellyn Park, a private residential community in West Orange, New Jersey. Edison bought the property in 1886, the same year he married Mina Miller.

The house became the Edison family residence while Edison worked at his nearby laboratory complex. After Edison’s death, Mina Edison continued to live there until her death in 1947.

Glenmont is now part of Thomas Edison National Historical Park. It is distinct from the laboratory buildings, which are also preserved at the park. Llewellyn Park is the community; Glenmont is the specific house.
