The Wild Bunch was the outlaw gang led by Butch Cassidy in the American West.
The group was also known as the Wild Bunch Gang and operated mainly in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and surrounding areas during the 1890s and early 1900s. Its members specialized in robbing banks and trains rather than conducting ordinary cattle rustling.
Butch Cassidy, whose real name was Robert LeRoy Parker, organized the gang. Harry Alonzo Longabaugh, known as the Sundance Kid, became its best-known member. Other associated figures included Ben Kilpatrick, Elzy Lay, and Harvey Logan, also called Kid Curry.
The gang used the remote Hole-in-the-Wall in Wyoming as one of its hideouts. Several members later went to South America, where Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were reportedly killed in Bolivia in 1908, although their final fate has been debated. The Wild Bunch should not be confused with the James–Younger Gang, which belonged to an earlier generation.
