What was the name of the mausoleum where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are buried?

The mausoleum where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are buried is the Royal Mausoleum at Frogmore, commonly called Frogmore Mausoleum. It stands on the Frogmore estate in Windsor’s Home Park, Berkshire.

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert had planned to rest together in a specially built memorial rather than in Westminster Abbey or St George’s Chapel. After Albert died in December 1861, Victoria selected the site just four days later. Construction began in 1862, and the building was completed and decorated over the following years.

Albert was interred there in 1871, after the mausoleum was finished, while Victoria was placed beside him after her death in January 1901. The building’s centrepiece is their shared sarcophagus, decorated with marble effigies. St George’s Chapel is a nearby royal burial site, which is why it can be mistaken for their final resting place, but Victoria and Albert are in Frogmore’s separate mausoleum.
