What was the name of the four-toed statue on the island?

The story behind the answer

The four-toed statue on the island was the Statue of Taweret. Lost first shows its remains as a huge marble foot standing near the coast. The strange four-toed shape becomes one of the series' most persistent mysteries after Sayid, Jin, and Sun see it from the sea in the season-two episode “Live Together, Die Alone.”

The complete statue is later glimpsed in the season-five episode “LaFleur.” Its design includes lion-like ears, long hair, ancient Egyptian clothing, and ankh symbols in its hands. These details identify it as Taweret, an ancient Egyptian deity associated with fertility, childbirth, and protection. The statue's unusual appearance also explains why the surviving foot resembles a human monument but does not have ordinary human proportions.

The statue stands on the island known as the Heart of the Island and contains a chamber where Jacob lives. Its Egyptian imagery connects with Lost's recurring references to hieroglyphs, ancient civilizations, and competing ideas about life and death. It is commonly misidentified as a statue of Isis, Horus, or Anubis, but the series specifically names the figure Taweret.
