What was the name of the first widely distributed virtual-reality arcade system made by Virtuality?

The story behind the answer

Virtuality 1000CS was the first widely distributed virtual-reality arcade system made by Virtuality.

Virtuality developed arcade machines that combined a headset, stereoscopic graphics, and a dedicated control system. The 1000CS appeared in the early 1990s and offered short interactive experiences in public entertainment venues, when home VR hardware was still impractical for most consumers.

The system was an enclosed arcade-style installation rather than a lightweight consumer headset. Players typically stood or sat at a cabinet and used a joystick or other controls while viewing the virtual environment through a head-mounted display.

Virtuality’s later 2000-series systems became more recognizable, so the company’s machines are sometimes discussed as though they were a single product. The 1000CS identifies an earlier generation in the company’s arcade line.
