What was the name of the concept car that previewed the Audi e-tron GT? It was the Audi e-tron GT concept.

Audi unveiled the e-tron GT concept at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. It presented the basic design and engineering direction of Audi’s future four-door electric grand tourer, rather than being a renamed version of another e-tron study.

The concept used a low, wide fastback-like silhouette, aggressive wheel arches and a fully electric all-wheel-drive layout. Its development was closely related to the Porsche Taycan because both cars use Volkswagen Group’s J1 performance platform. The concept was shown again at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

The production Audi e-tron GT arrived in 2021 and retained much of the concept’s styling. The Audi Aicon was a separate autonomous luxury-saloon study, while the Q4 e-tron concept previewed a compact electric SUV. The earlier Audi e-tron concept was also a different vehicle, so the full name matters here.
