Answer
Gunfight at the O.K. Corral
The 1881 Arizona gunfight involving Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, Morgan Earp, and Doc Holliday was the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
The confrontation occurred on October 26, 1881, in Tombstone, Arizona Territory. The Earp brothers and Holliday faced Billy Clanton, Ike Clanton, and Tom and Frank McLaury. The exchange lasted roughly 30 seconds and resulted in the deaths of Billy Clanton and the McLaury brothers. Virgil, Morgan, and Holliday were wounded; Wyatt Earp was not.
Despite its famous name, the gunfight did not actually take place inside the O.K. Corral. The men met in a narrow lot near the corral, on Fremont Street. The event became much more famous through novels, films, and television than it was at the time.
The fight was part of a wider dispute over weapons, law enforcement, and political loyalties in Tombstone. Later violence, including the assassination of Morgan Earp, continued the conflict.
