What was the name of McDonaldland’s hamburger-headed mayor?

Mayor McCheese was McDonaldland’s hamburger-headed mayor.

He was one of the fictional characters created for McDonald’s advertising and appeared in commercials, promotional material, and restaurant merchandise. The character had a large cheeseburger for a head and wore clothing associated with a civic official, including a mayoral sash.

McDonaldland presented McDonald’s products and characters as part of a colorful fantasy world. Mayor McCheese represented the setting’s civic authority, while characters such as the Hamburglar and Grimace had different roles and personalities.

A frequent mix-up is identifying Mayor McCheese as the Hamburglar because both were major McDonaldland figures. Their designs and roles were different: Mayor McCheese was the elected-looking hamburger character, while the Hamburglar was the masked character associated with stealing hamburgers.
