What was the name of Georgia O'Keeffe's famous New Mexico ranch retreat?

The story behind the answer

Ghost Ranch was Georgia O'Keeffe's famous New Mexico ranch retreat.

Located near Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch provided the dramatic cliffs, layered hills, bones, and broad skies that became recurring subjects in O'Keeffe's paintings. She first visited the area in the late 1920s and later maintained a house and studio there. The landscape's distinctive forms helped her create highly simplified compositions that were recognizable without functioning as conventional topographical views.

Ghost Ranch is not the same place as O'Keeffe's Abiquiu home. She lived and worked at both locations, but they are separate properties with different settings and histories. Ghost Ranch is also a retreat and education center with a history associated with the Presbyterian Church, while O'Keeffe's private residence at Abiquiu is preserved as a historic site by the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
