What was the name of Georgia O'Keeffe’s Abiquiú home, known for its door in her paintings?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe’s Abiquiú home was the Abiquiú Home and Studio.

O'Keeffe acquired the abandoned adobe house in Abiquiú, New Mexico, in 1945 and spent years restoring it. Its courtyard, walls, and distinctive black door became important parts of her daily environment and artistic imagination.

She painted the door repeatedly, turning an architectural detail into a powerful abstract composition. The doorway is often identified with her painting series from the 1950s and 1960s, including works based on the patio door.

The home is different from Ghost Ranch, where O'Keeffe also lived and worked. The Abiquiú property is now preserved by the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and can be visited through guided tours.
