What was the name of Doc Hudson's racing persona in Pixar's Cars?

The story behind the answer

Doc Hudson's racing persona in Pixar's Cars was The Fabulous Hudson Hornet.

Before becoming Radiator Springs' local doctor and judge, Doc Hudson was a celebrated race car. He drove a Hudson Hornet and won three Piston Cups in the early 1950s, establishing the nickname The Fabulous Hudson Hornet.

Doc's racing career ended after a serious crash and a long recovery. Although he returned to competition, he discovered that fans and racing officials had moved on to newer stars. He retired from racing and eventually settled in Radiator Springs.

The character is inspired by the real Hudson Hornet, a car famous for its success in early NASCAR competition. Paul Newman provided Doc's English voice in Cars, and the role was one of his final major voice performances. “The Fabulous Hudson Hornet” refers to Doc's racing identity, not the name of the town's doctor.
