What was the name of Disney's Bicentennial parade at Disneyland and Walt Disney World?

The story behind the answer

Disney's Bicentennial parade at Disneyland and Walt Disney World was called America on Parade.

The parade was created for the United States Bicentennial and also marked Disneyland's 20th anniversary and the Magic Kingdom's fifth anniversary. It first ran in the summer of 1975, before the main 1976 anniversary year, and continued through 1976.

Bob Jani, Disneyland's director of entertainment, oversaw the production, while theatrical designer Peter Larkin created the float units. The parade presented a colorful procession through American history and culture, using performers, large costumes, themed floats, and synchronized music.

The Sherman Brothers wrote the featured song “The Glorious Fourth,” which is sometimes mistakenly used as the parade's title. A 1976 television special, Walt Disney's America on Parade, also brought the production to a wider audience and was presented by Red Skelton.
