What was the lead single from Beyoncé’s album Renaissance?
Answer
Break My Soul
The lead single from Beyoncé’s album Renaissance was “Break My Soul.”
Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records released the song on June 20, 2022, ahead of Renaissance, which followed on July 29, 2022. The track blends house, dance-pop, and R&B influences and features a guest rap from Jay-Z under his pseudonym Hov.
Its production incorporates elements of Robin S’s 1993 hit “Show Me Love” and “Explode” by Big Freedia. Big Freedia also appears vocally, helping connect the song to New Orleans bounce and modern dance music.
“Break My Soul” became Beyoncé’s eighth solo number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 and her first solo song to top that chart since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2008. It is separate from “Cuff It,” another successful Renaissance track.
