What was the first Toyota model to have a V8 engine?

The first Toyota model to have a V8 engine was the Toyota Crown Eight.

Introduced in Japan on April 20, 1964, the Crown Eight was a larger, more luxurious derivative of the Crown sedan. Its 2.6-liter V8, identified by Toyota as the V engine, produced about 115 PS and used an overhead-valve design. The model was created for customers seeking more space, refinement, and prestige than the regular Crown could provide.

The Crown Eight is closely tied to Toyota’s later luxury-car history. Although it carried Crown branding, its V8 engineering and upscale positioning helped establish a path toward the Toyota Century, which debuted in 1967. The Century eventually became Toyota’s flagship chauffeur-driven sedan in Japan.

A common mix-up is choosing the Century because it became famous for V8 power and executive use. However, the Century came later. The Land Cruiser and Tundra also used V8 engines in later eras, but neither was Toyota’s first V8 model.
