What was the final score when Chelsea visited Fulham on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend?

Chelsea beat Fulham 3–2 in their away match on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.

The west London derby was played at Craven Cottage on Monday 24 August 2026, completing the opening round of Premier League fixtures. Chelsea’s narrow victory gave new manager Xabi Alonso a winning start in league competition.

The result was one of the weekend’s highest-scoring matches, with five goals shared between the local rivals. Chelsea’s three goals were enough to overcome Fulham’s two, although the close scoreline meant the match remained competitive until the final whistle.

This fixture can be confused with the other opening-weekend results because Chelsea were the last team to play in the round. The match was also notable for a meeting between Alonso and Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa, both former Spanish football figures beginning new English managerial roles.
