The Las Vegas Raiders beat the Houston Texans 22–20 in the 2026 NFL preseason.
The game opened Week 2 on August 20, 2026, giving both teams another chance to evaluate developing players before the regular season. Las Vegas also used the contest to assess rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, while Houston tested its depth on both sides of the ball.
A two-point margin made this one of the closer games of the preseason. Preseason results do not count toward regular-season standings, but coaches use them to make roster and positional decisions.
The matchup was played before the larger Week 2 slate, which included the 49ers–Chargers game later that evening. The Raiders’ victory improved their preseason record to 1–1, while Houston remained winless at that point.
