What was the final score of Rams–Chargers in the 2026 NFL preseason?

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 20–18 in the 2026 NFL preseason.

The all-Los Angeles matchup took place during Preseason Week 3 on August 27. Although the Chargers were listed as the home team, both franchises share SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, making the game a local rivalry played at the same venue.

The result was much closer than the Rams’ 34–0 victory over New Orleans in Week 2. It also differed from the teams’ regular-season meetings, which are judged separately and do not inherit preseason results.

Preseason games are often used for final evaluations before roster cutdowns. That means the players and playing time in an exhibition contest may differ substantially from those used when the teams meet in meaningful regular-season games.
