Taylor Swift’s song “august” peaked at number 23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
The track entered the Hot 100 on the chart dated August 8, 2020, after the surprise release of Folklore. It remained on the Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks, showing that an album track could achieve substantial attention without being promoted as a traditional lead single.
The number 23 peak is easy to mix up with other chart results. “august” reached number five on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and later peaked at number 46 on the Billboard Global 200. Those are separate charts with different eligibility and ranking systems.
Its recurring August streams helped the song continue appearing in chart discussions after its original release. The annual seasonal pattern became one of the track’s most distinctive commercial characteristics.
