Malaysia is sometimes confused with Singapore because the two results are close and both appeared among the song’s early international peaks. The correct Malaysian position is 11, while Singapore’s is 12. The song later appeared on the Billboard Malaysian chart again during its recurring August resurgence.
These international results show that “august” connected with listeners beyond the United States even before its annual online tradition became firmly established. Its summery imagery, atmospheric production, and easily recognizable title helped it travel across markets.
