Taylor Swift’s “August” peaked at number 13 on Australia’s singles chart during its original release period.
The Australian result placed the song inside the country’s top 20 alongside strong performances in several other markets. The track also reached number 11 in Malaysia, number 12 in Singapore, and number 16 in Canada upon release.
Those figures come from the song’s initial chart cycle after Folklore arrived in July 2020. Later, “August” developed a recurring seasonal pattern in which streams and chart appearances increased around the month of August. The later resurgence should be distinguished from the original Australian peak.
Because the track was not initially promoted as a conventional single, its chart performance was driven largely by album listening and broad audience interest. Its continuing annual return helped keep attention on a song that began as one of Folklore’s album tracks.
