What was Snoop Dogg's role in the movie "Starsky & Hutch"?

In the movie “Starsky & Hutch,” Snoop Dogg plays the street informant Huggy Bear.

Huggy Bear is a colorful underworld contact who supplies detectives David Starsky and Ken “Hutch” Hutchinson with information. The character originated in the 1970s television series, where actor Antonio Fargas made Huggy Bear one of the show’s most recognizable supporting figures.

Snoop Dogg played the role in the 2004 comedy film directed by Todd Phillips. The movie is a humorous prequel-style reimagining of the television series, starring Ben Stiller as Starsky, Owen Wilson as Hutch, and Vince Vaughn as the villainous drug dealer Reese Feldman.

A common mix-up is confusing Huggy Bear with Starsky or Hutch, who are the two police detectives. “The Professor” is also associated with another famous crime-solving franchise, but he is not Snoop Dogg’s character in this film.
