What was Mayor McCheese’s head shaped like in McDonald’s McDonaldland advertising?

Mayor McCheese had a cheeseburger-shaped head in McDonald’s McDonaldland advertising.

The character was designed as a playful civic leader whose oversized burger head immediately connected him to McDonald’s food branding. He wore mayoral clothing and appeared alongside other McDonaldland characters in commercials and promotional material.

This combination of an official title and an exaggerated food-based appearance was typical of McDonaldland’s visual style. The campaign turned ordinary menu items into recognizable fictional personalities, helping children remember both the characters and the restaurant.

Mayor McCheese is sometimes confused with Officer Big Mac, another McDonaldland character associated with a McDonald’s food item. The important distinction is that Mayor McCheese’s identifying feature was the cheeseburger head, while the characters had different roles and designs.
