What was Lamborghini first known for?
Answer
Farm Tractors
Answer
Farm Tractors
Lamborghini was first known for farm tractors. Ferruccio Lamborghini began producing agricultural machinery in postwar Italy, using his mechanical experience and surplus military vehicle parts to build affordable, practical tractors for farmers.
His tractor business, established in the late 1940s, became highly successful. The Lamborghini L 33, introduced in 1951, was the first production tractor made entirely by Lamborghini apart from its engine. Profits from Lamborghini Trattori helped Ferruccio finance other ventures and eventually establish Automobili Lamborghini in 1963.
Many people first associate the name with V12 supercars such as the Miura, Countach, and Aventador, but those came later. The car company’s fame grew after the Miura’s 1966 debut, while Lamborghini’s original industrial reputation came from tractors. The tractor division was later sold and became part of the SAME Deutz-Fahr group, separate from the modern luxury-car business.
