What was Georgia O'Keeffe's first New York art school?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe's first New York art school was the Art Students League of New York.

O'Keeffe studied there after attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In New York, she worked under the academic painter William Merritt Chase and received conventional training based on drawing and painting from models.

Her time at the league preceded the radical abstraction associated with her later career. She won the league's still-life scholarship in 1908, an achievement that showed her strength within the academic system before she moved toward a more personal visual language.

The Art Students League is sometimes confused with the National Academy of Design, another New York institution connected with American art education. They were separate organizations, and O'Keeffe's documented school was the Art Students League.
