What was Bob Marley’s final studio album?
Answer
Uprising
Answer
Uprising
Uprising was Bob Marley’s final studio album.
Island Records released Uprising on 10 June 1980. It was recorded during the period when Marley and the Wailers were working between Jamaica and London, and it included “Could You Be Loved,” “Forever Loving Jah,” and “Redemption Song.”
The album came after Survival, which had strongly emphasized African unity and liberation. Uprising retained political and spiritual concerns while also containing some of Marley’s most intimate and accessible songwriting.
Marley died in May 1981, less than a year after Uprising appeared. Because it was his last studio album released during his lifetime, it is sometimes confused with Confrontation, a posthumous 1983 collection assembled from previously unreleased material and earlier recordings.
