What was Beyoncé’s first feature film as an actor?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé’s first feature film as an actor was Austin Powers in Goldmember.

Released in 2002, the film is the third installment in the Austin Powers comedy series, following International Man of Mystery and The Spy Who Shagged Me. Beyoncé played Foxxy Cleopatra, an undercover agent and singer who helps Austin Powers confront the villain Goldmember.

The film starred Mike Myers in multiple roles and included Michael Caine, Seth Green, Robert Wagner, and Beyoncé in her feature-film debut. Foxxy Cleopatra was styled as a playful homage to 1970s blaxploitation characters.

Beyoncé had already become famous as a member of Destiny’s Child before appearing in the film. She later took leading acting roles in The Fighting Temptations, Dreamgirls, Cadillac Records, and Obsessed.
