The Swaythling Cup is awarded to the winners of the men's team event at the World Table Tennis Championships.
The trophy was donated by Lady Gladys Goldsmid Montefiore and named after William Henry Swaythling, an early British table tennis administrator. It has been presented for the men's world team championship since the first World Championships in 1927.
The women's team trophy is the Corbillon Cup, also called the Marcel Corbillon Cup. Keeping those names separate is a common trivia challenge because both trophies belong to the same world championship program.
The men's team competition has often been dominated by Hungary, Japan, and China at different periods. China became especially successful in the modern era, but the trophy's name remains connected to the sport's British organizational roots.
