What tribute album was released for the 30th anniversary of Metallica's The Black Album?

The story behind the answer

The Metallica Blacklist was released for the 30th anniversary of Metallica's The Black Album.

The tribute album arrived on September 10, 2021, alongside the expanded 30th-anniversary reissue of Metallica. It contains 53 cover recordings of songs from the 1991 album, performed by more than 50 artists from different musical backgrounds.

The project deliberately placed well-known rock and metal performers alongside artists from pop, hip-hop, country, electronic, and other genres. Each contributor reinterpreted one of the Black Album's songs, demonstrating how widely the original material had traveled beyond its heavy-metal setting.

Profits from The Metallica Blacklist were directed to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation and charities selected by participating artists. It is separate from the studio album itself and from the deluxe box set, which contains remastered recordings, demos, live material, and documentary-era content.
