What subtitle was given to Pokémon Yellow in its full English title?

The full English title of Pokémon Yellow is Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition.

Released for the Game Boy, Pokémon Yellow was an enhanced version of the first-generation Pokémon games. Its presentation was influenced by the animated series, so Pikachu became the player’s permanent starting partner rather than one of three selectable starters.

Pikachu also followed the player outside battle, a feature that made the game feel more closely connected to Ash and Pikachu’s relationship in the television series. Jessie and James of Team Rocket also appeared in the game.

The subtitle is sometimes shortened in conversation to Pokémon Yellow or Yellow Version. “Special Pikachu Edition” is the official English subtitle and distinguishes the release from Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue.
