Halo 2's remastered campaign in Halo: The Master Chief Collection is titled Halo 2: Anniversary.
Halo 2: Anniversary was created for the tenth anniversary of Halo 2 and released in 2014 as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It retains the original game's campaign while updating its visuals, cinematics, audio, and multiplayer presentation. Players can switch between classic and remastered campaign graphics during play.
The remaster also includes terminals and other presentation enhancements that expand the game's surrounding fiction. Its multiplayer combines remastered maps with a separate selection of original Halo 2 multiplayer content, preserving the feel of the Xbox classic while adding modern features.
The subtitle is easy to confuse with the collection's broader name. Anniversary belongs specifically to the Halo 2 remaster; The Master Chief Collection is the compilation that also includes versions of Combat Evolved, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4.
