Randy Newman's “Our Town” won the 2007 Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media for Pixar's Cars.
Newman wrote and performed the song for the film's closing section, where it reflects on Radiator Springs' earlier prosperity and later decline. Its lyrics focus on memory, change, and the feeling of a community that has been bypassed by modern transportation.
The song received the Grammy at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, although it did not win that Oscar. The film's soundtrack includes other well-known tracks, such as Sheryl Crow's “Real Gone” and Rascal Flatts' “Life Is a Highway.”
“Find Yourself” is associated with the 2011 film Cars 2, not the original Cars. The award category's name has changed over time, but the 2007 Grammy specifically recognized “Our Town.”
