What short sword does Kunimitsu wield?

Kunimitsu wields a kodachi, a compact Japanese sword suited to her ninja fighting style.

The original Kunimitsu was a member of Yoshimitsu’s Manji Clan and used Manji Ninjutsu. After being expelled for stealing for personal gain, she continued working as a thief and entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament to pursue valuable treasures.

In Tekken 7, Kunimitsu’s daughter takes up the same name and follows her mother’s path. The younger Kunimitsu uses a kodachi alongside other ninja weapons, including a tantō. These are easy to confuse: a kodachi is a short sword, while a tantō is generally a dagger-sized blade.

Kunimitsu’s weapon history is also tied to Yoshimitsu. Her mother once sought the mysterious sword associated with the Manji Clan, while the younger Kunimitsu becomes determined to obtain it for her sick mother. That rivalry helps explain why Yoshimitsu remains one of her recurring opponents.
