What power does Bruno have in Encanto?

Bruno Madrigal’s power in Encanto is seeing the future.

Bruno has the gift of clairvoyance: he can create visions that reveal possible future events. His visions are often symbolic and can be misunderstood, rather than being simple, unavoidable predictions. This uncertainty makes his gift unsettling to the Madrigal family and the wider community.

Before the film’s main events, Bruno sees a vision involving Mirabel and a damaged Casita. The family interprets the vision as a warning that Mirabel may destroy their miracle, contributing to Bruno’s reputation as a bad omen. He disappears from public life, although he secretly remains inside the family home.

Bruno is not telepathic, invisible, or super-strong. His power is also different from Dolores’s superhuman hearing and Camilo’s shapeshifting. By the end of the story, the family begins to understand that Bruno’s visions were not the cause of their problems; fear and misinterpretation were.
