What object did Taylor Swift hold in her TikTok video joining the “august” trend?

Taylor Swift held a bottle of wine in her TikTok video joining the “august” trend.

The yearly trend uses Swift’s song as the soundtrack for short montages of summer memories. Creators typically combine scenes from trips, friendships, outdoor activities, or ordinary moments saved on their phones. The format turns the song’s nostalgic atmosphere into a personal visual scrapbook.

TikTok’s own newsroom described the trend in 2021 and noted that Swift participated herself. Her video included a bottle of wine, a visual detail that echoed the song’s famous wine imagery and made her contribution recognizable as an intentional response to the trend.

The bottle is not a separate prop from the original music video, because “august” did not receive a conventional narrative music video at release. It belongs to Swift’s social-media participation in the fan-created August tradition.
