What New Mexico retreat, near Abiquiú, was a major home and subject for Georgia O'Keeffe?

The story behind the answer

Ghost Ranch was the New Mexico retreat near Abiquiú that became a major home and subject for Georgia O'Keeffe.

O'Keeffe first encountered the landscape around Ghost Ranch during her New Mexico travels and later rented a house there. She was attracted to the cliffs, arroyos, vivid colors, and changing light of the high desert. The area supplied motifs for many paintings and drawings.

She eventually acquired a house at Ghost Ranch, while also maintaining a home in the village of Abiquiú. These places gave her greater privacy and direct access to the landscape she wanted to study.

Ghost Ranch is sometimes confused with the nearby Georgia O'Keeffe Home and Studio in Abiquiú. They are separate locations, although both are closely associated with the artist and her New Mexico years.
