What New Mexico landscape area became Georgia O'Keeffe's home and studio in 1949?

The story behind the answer

Abiquiú became Georgia O'Keeffe's home and studio in 1949.

O'Keeffe moved permanently to New Mexico in 1949, but she did not immediately live in the Abiquiú house associated with her later years. She had visited the region since 1929 and first spent much of her time at Ghost Ranch, north of Abiquiú. In 1945 she purchased a ruined adobe house in the village of Abiquiú.

The house required extensive restoration, which was completed in the late 1940s. O'Keeffe began living there in 1949, and its courtyard, door, walls, and surrounding landscape became recurring subjects. The property is now preserved as the Georgia O'Keeffe Home and Studio, a National Historic Landmark.

Abiquiú is distinct from Ghost Ranch and from Santa Fe. O'Keeffe worked in all three areas, but the Abiquiú house was her principal New Mexico home and studio for many years.
