What New Mexico community was home to Georgia O'Keeffe's studio and house after 1949?

The story behind the answer

Abiquiu was home to Georgia O'Keeffe's studio and house after 1949.

O'Keeffe moved permanently from New York to New Mexico in 1949 and made Abiquiu one of her principal homes. Her Abiquiu house and studio, now preserved as a historic site, include the famous door opening onto an adobe wall and sky, a motif she painted repeatedly.

The property had been abandoned when O'Keeffe first saw it. She spent years arranging for its restoration, and it eventually became a practical living and working environment. The surrounding landscape supplied many of the forms and views that entered her later paintings.

Abiquiu is often confused with Ghost Ranch, another New Mexico place strongly associated with O'Keeffe. She maintained a home at Ghost Ranch as well, but the Abiquiu property is specifically known for the preserved house and studio where she lived and worked.
