What name did the Apollo 11 lunar module use when it landed on the Moon?

The story behind the answer

The Apollo 11 lunar module used the name Eagle when it landed on the Moon.

Apollo 11 launched from Florida on July 16, 1969, carrying astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Armstrong and Aldrin descended to the lunar surface in the lunar module Eagle, while Collins remained in lunar orbit aboard the command module Columbia.

Eagle landed in the Moon’s Sea of Tranquility on July 20, 1969. Armstrong became the first person to step onto the lunar surface, followed shortly afterward by Aldrin. The landing fulfilled President John F. Kennedy’s goal of sending humans to the Moon and returning them safely before the end of the 1960s.

The spacecraft names are easy to mix up. Columbia was the command module, while Eagle was the lunar module. Apollo 11 returned to Earth on July 24, 1969, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
