What name did Mail Boxes Etc. U.S. stores adopt after UPS acquired the business?

The story behind the answer

After UPS acquired Mail Boxes Etc., many U.S. locations adopted the name The UPS Store.

United Parcel Service acquired Mail Boxes Etc. in 2001. The transaction gave UPS a large network of independently operated retail shipping and business-service locations, complementing its parcel-delivery operations.

In the United States, the Mail Boxes Etc. network was rebranded as The UPS Store beginning in 2003. Locations continued offering services such as packing, shipping, mailbox rental, copying, printing, and document services, while gaining the stronger UPS brand identity.

The change did not mean every Mail Boxes Etc. location worldwide immediately became The UPS Store. International operations used different arrangements and branding in various markets. This is why the acquisition year, 2001, and the principal U.S. rebranding year, 2003, are separate facts frequently confused in franchise histories.
