What is the Wookiee homeworld called?
Answer
Kashyyyk
Answer
Kashyyyk
The Wookiee homeworld is called Kashyyyk. It is a heavily forested planet in the Star Wars galaxy, known for enormous wroshyr trees, layered jungles, and the tall, powerful Wookiees who live among them. Chewbacca, Han Solo’s longtime copilot, is Kashyyyk’s most famous native.
Kashyyyk first appeared in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, whose framing story takes place during Chewbacca’s return home for Life Day. The planet later received a major film appearance in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, when Yoda helps the Wookiees fight Separatist forces during the Clone Wars.
Kashyyyk is often confused with Endor, the forested moon featured in Return of the Jedi. Endor is home to the Ewoks, while Kashyyyk is the Wookiee world. Dagobah, another green-looking location, is the swamp planet where Yoda lives in exile.
In the films, Kashyyyk’s landscapes combine location photography from Thailand and China with visual effects. Its distinctive vertical forests make the planet visually different from ordinary woodland settings.
